Adopting is an exciting experience for families and according to recent statistics, one out of every 25 families includes at least one child who was adopted. If you are adopting, there are numerous things you can do to prepare. One of the first things you can do is talk to your health insurance company about adding them to your policy and once included select a pediatrician for your child.
You could also consider talking to your employer about an “adoption leave” or other paid time off to help your child’s transition.
